| Young grunge rocker Daniel Johns of Silverchair gained recognition with his high-energy rock band whose members were only 15 years old at the time of their debut. Heavily influenced by Nirvana and Pearl Jam, they formed the group in 1992. A national talent contest allowed them to record the demo "Tomorrow" which was an instant success. The related album, "Frogstomp", sold 2 million copies in the US. Recent offerings from Silverchair include the 1999 release "Neon Ballroom". |
