| John Mellencamp's 1982 album "American Fool" topped the U.S. charts with the hit singles, "Hurts so Good" and "Jack and Diane". In 1976, John discovered MCA had changed his last name from Mellencamp to Cougar for the release of his album "Chestnut Street Incident". In 1983, John added Mellencamp back to his name, and in 1991 he dropped the "Cougar" moniker altogether. He has had a very successful career and has also directed and starred in the movie, "Falling from Grace". |
