| Originally from the white suburb of Romeo, Kid Rock's name is linked to the inner-city rap scene of Detroit. He earned this nickname as a teenager hanging out at rap concerts and talent shows. After learning how to DJ, (ruining his mothers phonograph while learning), he picked up a record deal with Jive Records his first two albums didn't do very well. It wasn't until "Devil Without a Cause" that he made his hit debut and the album reached the Billboard Top 5. |
